Set or move the training-package directory

Choose a storage location, move existing packages and resolve low disk space.

On this page

What the directory contains

The data root stores postflop training and resource packages. Study's solver-result cache is managed separately under Setting → Common. Clearing that cache does not move training packages.

Change the location

Open Setting → Presolved / Flop Cache → Data root directory, or open directory settings from the Postflop Builder.

  1. Note the current full path. Pause building before moving existing content.

  2. Copy the complete packages you want to keep to the new location, preserving folder structure and filenames.

  3. Select Browse, choose a writable local directory, then select Confirm.

  4. Check the final path shown in the dialog. Open the Trainer to verify that existing packages are listed and usable.

What changes immediately

The new location takes effect after confirmation. Existing packages are not moved automatically, so a new location can appear empty if you have only changed the path.

Selecting a legacy flopcache location can resolve to a sibling training_packages directory. Use the full path shown after confirmation. Copy complete packages without renaming their individual files.

Check available space

The directory dialog recommends at least 50 GB free. Falling below this produces a warning but does not prevent saving the location. During a build, free space below 1 GB stops construction and clears waiting jobs. After resolving the space issue, return to the builder and press Build to continue; completed boards are skipped.

An unavailable reading or a space check still in progress does not mean the drive has zero free space.

Troubleshooting

Check the final path, folder existence, drive connection and write access. If packages are missing after a move, compare the old and new folder structures, finish copying and reopen the Trainer. Also check this directory if Resource Packs in the builder does nothing.
